Clustering of particles

For modelling silica and calcium silicate hydrate gels [13], some clustering of the particles may be needed. One way to cluster the particles could be to modify the particle placement code in concrete.c to place nseed particles totally at random, and then assuring that all subsequent particles have a soft shell that overlaps at least one other existing soft shell. The nseed particles thus serve as " seeds" around which the subsequently placed particles will cluster.
